Join us in our parent child class this fall to connect with and delight in your child, while enjoying the company of others!
About the Class | We all know the important saying, “It takes a village.” It can be very difficult in modern parenting to find or create the supportive warmth of that village that has always been known as a necessity in the beautiful and challenging journey of raising children. In this 4 week parent/child class, we will create a space to foster community. You may find connections that can carry beyond the time we share in class. The sessions will follow a rhythm interweaving play-based engagement, bread-baking, seasonal songs, stories, and sometimes crafts that support the young child’s innate curiosity in the world and their drive to imitate, explore and delight in it. There will be chances to learn about the Waldorf approach to early childhood education and discuss relevant topics of parenting and child development to support you and your family. Both children and adults benefit deeply from these experiences, held in the warmth that is created through connection.

About the Teacher | Caitlin Flannery has been in early childhood education for over 15 years, most recently as the Director of Early Childhood at Urban Prairie Waldorf School. She is in a transition time in her career, bringing more focus to her work with parents and training teachers. She holds parent workshops on various subjects and is currently the Early Childhood Chair of the Waldorf Teacher Institute. She is also raising and homeschooling her two children through experiential-based learning on their small scale organic farm. She takes much meaning and inspiration from the intersection of her work as a farmer and educator, tending to the earth and tending to young children and families.
