Who We Serve
We provide care and programming for children ages 2 through 5. Their day weaves between mixed-age group and their classrooms. Currently, we serve around 30 families total in our 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day programs. We require that children who attend Rise Up are up-to-date on their childhood vaccines (and welcome any questions about this topic).

About Our Approach
At Rise Up, we understand that young children learn more by doing than by being told. Rather than having children sit still or at tables for extended periods, our program is designed to give many opportunities for walking, running, climbing, dumping, dropping, carrying, building, lifting, and creating. Movement itself builds a solid foundation for all kinds of learning that will happen down the road.
Our classroom environment includes materials for imaginative play and creative exploration, manipulatives to develop cognitive and physical skills, classic toys (such as building blocks), musical instruments, and books. The environment allows the children to choose activities and respects their need for ample time to use and reuse these various learning tools fostering mastery and competence.
We view play as an essential pillar of child development. As play facilitators, we create and adapt the classroom environment and activities to meet the children’s changing needs. We watch for ways to support their play that will encourage empathy, social-emotional capacities, creativity, and problem-solving.
Toddlers are active explorers and eager to try new things and use materials in different ways. Our staff is prepared to be flexible and spontaneous and will go with the cues of the child and extend the learning when the opportunities arise.
We respect the toddler’s striving towards becoming autonomous and allow opportunities for the child to be responsible and make choices. Expectations for behaviors are developmentally appropriate and allow the child to be challenged while also feeling support from our staff.
We understand the importance of routine and rhythm for the young child and our programs are designed to have a keen sense of both throughout the day and week.
